There are two books that I recommend, Laurie Vitt co-authored one concerning Iquitos
(Ecuador) lizards and the other is Lizards of Brazilian Amazonia by Teresa
Avila-Pires. The last one is a little expensive, I paid $160.00 for it. I know
www.herplit.com has one for sale. Amazingly enough, the only other gecko besides the
sphaerodactyline geckos (Sphaerodactylus, Lepidoblepharis, Gonatodes,
Pseudogonatodes, and Coleodactylus) is the Thick-tailed gecko (Thecadactylus
rapicauda). If you go to the west coast of Ecuador, in the drier regions, you may see
some Phyllodactylus and maybe some Homonota.
