Hello all, I have been following along for some
time now, but this is my first question/post. I hope I have not asked something
that has been covered numerous time before, but here
goes. I haven’t kept any reptiles for about seven or so years, and I am
now starting back into it. I plan on getting several different species of Phelsuma for breeding soon, and was wondering what Flourescent bulbs people prefer now. When I bred them
before I just used Vita-Lites, but now I see there
are a lot more options. On one supply website I saw brands like VeriLux, GE
Spectra Rays, Triton Reptile UVB,ESU Super UV, ESU Desert UV, Hagen’s Repti-GLO 8.0 UVB, ZooMed Repti-sun 2.0, ZooMed Iguana 5.0,
ZooMed Repti-sun 5.0. All
of these brands are new to me, although the manufacturer names are familiar. So, what do you Phelsuma
keepers use out there and prefer. I also plan on
having a spotlight for heat. What kind of bulbs do you use for a heat source. Both sets of lights will be mounted directly on the
cage with only screen between them. Jack
