Yuri, Specialty lighting store carry the T8 TL series or can get them for. We order ours from Voss Lighting (1-800-735-8677) who has branches across the U.S.
On our smaller Phelsuma enclosures (vertical 8 to 10 gallon) we use one 10 watt halogen bulb. On larger enclosures (15-40 gallon) we use one or two 20 watt bulbs on a dimmer (makes them last longer). We often place two halogen lights in separate areas which relieves stress between male and female geckos. The lights are anywhere from 3" and more from the basking spot; using a dimmer and a thermometer so we can get the right temperature. Here are some examples of how we use them. They can be placed directly on metal screens or mounted above. All the enclosures you see have the halogens basking lights. "Look Mom, no domes!" http://www.daygecko.org/html/pictures_of_equipment___enclos.html The halogen lights we use are the under-the-cabinet "hockey puck" lights that can be found at most hardware stores. Some junky ones are out (Wal-Mart) there so be concern about quality. http://www.daygecko.com/shopcart/list.php3?pt=0 Leann Leaping Lizards Day Geckos www.daygecko.com Membership Secretary, Board of Directors Global Gecko Association www.gekkota.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Yuri Huta" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, March 20, 2002 3:42 PM Subject: Re: [Gecko] Lighting...for Phelsuma > Leann, > > Do you purchase the Phillips T8 TL series at a local store or from a > mail order source?
