An interesting idea.. A few years ago, our national Fish and
Wildlifeofficers-equivalent caught an illegal cargo of Solomon-Island Boa's
(Candoia in two species) They were confiscated and brought to one of the zoo's
here. There, several females gave birth to juveniles so at a certain moment,
over 300 candoia-s or evne more were waiting in the zoo. Too much to feed them
all, so the zoo started giving them away with some paperwork and all and a
couple of bucks fee... The result, for years, no-one was willing to pay the
large amounts of money for imported Candoia's.. If you can get them for almost
free, why pay?
Thay may be a good idea with illegal sendings like those with
the Phelsuma's Give them away and spoil the market for the next illegal
shipment..
