Usually that shed is complete before you even find them. You worry if you find them stuck in that neo-natal shed--if that happens you just try and keep them in a moist set-up like a deli-cup with moist paper towels and hope they make it out. If not they usually don't make it. :(

I think the bottom line with this situation the person asked us about was that they did not realize gecko hatchlings don't want to eat until a few days after hatching. They put a bunch of food in there, and worried their gecko was not going to make it when they did not eat. Not to worry!
