Since you are checking on guimbeaui I'll tell you how I handled one of our
pairs.  Yes, the male would get aggressive and the female would have to hide
out for days in her bamboo to avoid him.  She would also became very
stressed as eggs were close to hatching.  If I didn't find the baby first,
the male would eat them.  She would not eat them.

To solve both problems, the male was removed and only returns for conjugal
visits.  His visits are for about two weeks.  This suits her fine.  She has
a great season of laying eggs (April through September), and I get all the
hatchlings.
