I was surprised to read about this too. Hopefully the breeder mentioned was living in Australia and not the USA! If anyone has not see what these guys look like look them up - they are VERY COOL! Looks like the spikey punk rock version of the beardie!

Mark, I believe that possession of this animal is extremely illegal and punishment can be around 10-20 years in prison. These lizards are protected by the Australian government. In addition the only eat a couple of certain species of ants that are also found only in the central Australian desert. If you know someone that has these lizards be careful and don't get caught.
