Julie,
I agree they have to be one of the most bizarre of the reptile world, even compared to horned lizards (I live in Reno, Nevada, were I see these all the time).

I'm jealous, I have to drive up to the Sierra Foothills to see them. I have some friends who live off Highway 50 in Cameron Park, I have seen nice red ones there.

I was under the impression from Eric Pianka's papers that they're are extremely protected. Although zoo's should try keeping them It would be nice to see a live one.

That would be cool!

Are you going to be in the Sacramento herp show on August 2nd and 3rd?

This would be the 4th or 5th Annual Sacramento Reptile show put on by Upscale Reptiles (very nice folks), and I will be there. August will be a busy month for me - I will also be at the National Reptile Breeder's Expo running my own booth and hosting the GGA dinner.

BTW if anyone wants to come to the GGA dinner that has not signed up already please do! You can e-mail me here or off list.
