This site is great for non-domestic vets: http://www.arav.com/USMembers.htm   This is from their site:
The Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV) promotes conservation and humane treatment of all reptilian and amphibian species through education, captive breeding and reptilian and amphibian habitat preservation.
If they belong they are serious about reptiles and amphibians!

Best of luck with the treatment.

There are several things that can cause swelling of the eye from the things
already mentioned by Karin to bacterial infections. Without treatment the
eyes will go blind. It is time to take your pet to a veterinarian. Home
treatments are not appropriate for this situation.

There are several on-line sources to find veterinarian who specialize in
reptiles -- maybe someone familiar with those sites can refer AJ to them.

Hi, I've never had a pet house gecko, but the swollen areas around each

eye

would be a warning for me that perhaps there are mites or parasites lodged
inside or something of the sort causing a problem. Or perhaps some sort

of a

bacterial infection due to insect bites (if crickets are left in too long,
etc).

Just some opinions, hope it helps a bit.

Hello there,

I have a pet house gecko, Fritzy, who is about 2 years old. In the
last two months, he has become less active and his color has become
faded. Particularly alarming are the seemingly swollen areas around
each of his eyes. These areas are especially faded. He has ceased to
climb on the walls of his habitat, yet he continues to eat well. He
doesn't seem to be in pain. I am so worried and cannot locate a
reptile specialist for help. If anyone recognizes this affliction,
please write back! I LOVE MY GECKO!!!!
