Hi Marie,

Those pictures certainly do not look good at all. That gecko needs to see a
vet ASAP, I doubt there is anything that can be done without the help of a
vet. Warm water soaks are good for problem sheds. Fill up a small container
with water, only enough to reach the geckos belly. Let the gecko soak there
for 5-10 minutes, and try to gently pull off the skin. You can also try to
gently rub the skin off with a wet q-tip, although whatever you do, I would
be very careful. You should probably find some care sheets for leopard
geckos and make sure all the care requirements are met. I would keep the
gecko on paper towel for now, so nothing irritates the lump. More details
about the setup would be helpful. I'm just curious, how long has the gecko
had this lump?

Good Luck,
Diana

Subject: [gecko]Sick Geckos

My son's girlfriend has two Chinese Leopard Geckos (I think that's what they
are)--both females I think.

One is very, very thin and doesn't seem to eat, I've heard said, and seems
also to have trouble shedding all of its skin. This Gecko appears to be
keeping her mouth slightly open today--my son says this is a bad sign. The
Geckos are fed mealworms.

The other has a lump over its left eye. It looks as though it's an
infection. I'm attaching pictures--one five weeks ago and two taken a week
ago. Is there some over-the-counter medication she can purchase?
Apparently there is only one veterinarian in the state that deals with
Geckos and not located nearby. The girlfriend has been distracted from the
care of the Geckos for the past three months as she is pregnant with twins
and has been pretty sick most of this time. I know nothing about Geckos but
would like to see what can be done for these poor things. They are staying
with me right now so I see the Geckos at least once a day.

Thanks much,
Marie Robinson
