Been there, done that :)

I had a pair about 8 years ago, and I agree, they bite. I've never been bitten by a
tokay, but
I'm willing to bet these guys would put a tokay to shame. I had to reach into their
tank to
change the water, when the female jumped up and attached herself to the inside of my
upper right
arm. Any other time they bit, I found they'd let go as soon as they felt a solid
surface under
them - they'd just let go and run off. This time she wouldn't let go for love nor
money. She
thrashed around while I was trying to get her to feel the table under her. She was so
squirmy,
it took a good two minutes for her to notice the surface and she ran off. While I was
checking
my arm for damage and wiping the blood off, she disappeared. It wasn't until about 10
minutes
later that I realized in my haste to get her off my arm, I didn't close the tank
securely, and
the male escaped too. He made a good effort at dismantling my arm as well before I
could
recapture him. The female was free-ranging for almost a month before I caught her
again (partly
because I was too chicken to outright grab her, I had to try and get her with a net).
