As far as I know, there's no way to do that.  Try moving away pkg.m4 
from /usr/share/aclocal and then running './autogen.sh && ./configure' in 
libgeda:

  $ ./configure
  .. stuff ..
  checking for IceConnectionNumber in -lICE... yes
  checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config
  ./configure: line 31340: syntax error near unexpected token `GTK24,'
  ./configure: line 31340: `PKG_CHECK_MODULES(GTK24, gtk+-2.0 >= 2.4.0, 
GTK24="yes", no_GTK24="yes")'


This is the nature of autotools.  I don't like it either, but it's what we 
use.
