It uses the same yacc parser for edif. I started looking at it and then wasn't sure what to do with licensing. The edif.y file has a license which says something to the effect of do what you want, but I was not sure if it was sufficiently compatible with the gpl to include it in pcb or not. Thats where I got stalled out.
