You will obviously not be allowed to have multiple files with the same
name.  The name is going to include the extension as well.  You will however
be able to have the same file, in different folders (directories) in the
project.

I am in the process of doing this now.  For instance, a pcb file will have a
pcb icon in front of it followed by the name of the file.

This actually brings up something I was going to ask.  Since I am in the
middle of creating/finding bitmaps for each of the file types, what are all
the file types that one would want in their project in addition to the ones
that Kai mentioned with his tree hierarchy?  I also have verilog and vhdl
files at the moment but it would be nice to have different icons for all the
different types.  Also as in my other post, please vote on whether or not
you are for the default directory structure for the project.

Each directory level is expandable and collapsable.
