Yes, but not recent enough for me to expect you to care about them; what indications I've found indicate that they appeared in 4.4BSD, and I'm fairly sure the earlier BSDs I've used (4.1c, 4.2, mtXinu 4.3+NFS) didn't have it. Other Unices of similar vintage (eg Ultrix, SunOS from the days before they retconned it into Solaris 1) normally likewise.
