I found Berry which is a live CD supposed to be based on Fedora 3 and I just booted it and ran my gpcb binary. I got the initial theme and gnome-vfs-home icon messages, but it runs clean after that. To cover the bases, might it be a worthwhile test for me to try running your gpcb binary on this Fedora live CD (assuming it will run at all, but then my Debian compiled gpcb does run)?
