Hi -- I can report partial success with overcoming the warning spew from gpcb! I upgraded my gtk installation to the latest stable 2.6 version (gtk+-2.6.8) and the messages went away.
Previously, on one box I was using gtk+-2.4.0 which comes installed with FC3. I don't know what I was using with the FC2 box; I don't have it near me right now. The problem looked like the callback gui_drawing_window_expose_event_cb (or whatever it's called) had its arguments munged by the callback marshall. Although this happened with each call, only sometimes would it lead to a warning spew. What versions of gtk are you using with your test platforms?
