I found today that new geeqie creates ~/.local/share/geeqie/metadata but doesn't migrate ~/.geeqie/metadata/... over. Why not? I almost flipped out when it seemed like geeqie had lost the tags from the thousands and thousands of photos I've looked through in recent months.
