On my older machine, I have paths in ~/.gqview/metadata/... dating back to April, 2007, which is long before I had ever heard of geeqie. If we're going to support migrating that data over, it seems like a no-brainer to support migration from ~/.geeqie/metadata/... as well.
Furthermore, not supporting alphas makes sense in theory. In practice, though, we're talking about all the metadata that geeqie (not gqview) users may have collected in the past _year_ — my oldest metadata file in .geeqie is dated June 18, 200_8_. Some sort of migration script might work, but pretending that this entire year didn't happen is not a very viable option. >> That said, I migrated things by hand (with rsync) and all seems well. >> > > I am thinking about a script that converts gqview metadata. I had no problems with the metadata format; the problem was the location. When I moved the metadata from ~/.geeqie/metadata... to ~/.local/share/geeqie/metadata/..., everything started working properly again. --xsdg ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Are you an open source citizen?
