Black-clad protesters held a rally in front of the State Palace in Central
Jakarta on Thursday to express disappointment with President Joko "Jokowi"
Widodo for ratifying revisions of the Corruption Eradication Commission
(KPK) Law and Water Resources Law.

Members of the Kamisan movement, comprising victims and families of victims
of human rights violations, who have been holding weekly peaceful protests
since January 2007, also criticized the government for plans to also
approve revisions to Indonesia's Criminal Code.

Dozens of protestors, led by human rights activist Maria Sumarsih, accused
Jokowi of fascistic and undemocratic behavior.

The also called on the government to act decisively against the
perpetrators of forest fires in Kalimantan and Sumatra, which have been
blanketing parts of the country and neighboring Malaysia and Singapore in
choking haze since August.
