hmm, i'm not sure, but i think the problem lies in the /usr/lib/libaviplay.la file provided by libavifile-0.7-dev it explicitely refers to /usr/lib/liba52.la, which is not present on your system. on debian, this has been "fixed" with "libavifile-0.7-dev 1:0.7.48~20090503.ds-1", where all the .la files from libavifile have been dumped (deleted), so they don't interfere anymore with libtool. on ubuntu, this fix only made it into >=lucid.
