found the problem (though no solution yet): it seems that the entire State/Properties system based on gem::any (src/Utils/any.h) is broken on OSX/64bit. this is a bit of a bummer, as it works everywhere else, including: - OSX/mavericks 32bit - linux/Debian 64bit with the clang++ compiler (as close as i could get to the 64bit compiler used on modern osxs) this is tracked in https://github.com/umlaeute/Gem/issues/29 fgmdsar IOhannes
