I was expecting to dynamic_cast it to the ISA specific version as necessary, similar to how the TLBs are accessed. The decoder is an object in this scheme, so you can stick whatever methods you want on the side. As long as you can turn it into the right type, the ISA specific interfaces will pop out when there's something that knows how to use them.
