Both the times the review board responded > very slowly. Yea, you're right it seems to be very slow. I'm not sure what is going on. 1.7 was supposed to be a faster than the older version in addition to many new features. On another review board site, it certainly is a speed improvement (doing the same upgrade didn't result in a massive slow down). I'm not sure if the db is being slow or what. I've poked around a bit and haven't found anything definitive other than it seems like each db transaction seems to be taking 20 seconds and I don't know why. I'll try to figure it out over the weekend.
