I personally prefer to go for the 196 level even though I am only broadcasting at 96Kbs.
The better the quality of your MP3's will only have bearing on the amount of hard drive spaces it consumes. In this day and ages that does not really matter. What you will achieve from this is the sound knowledge that should you ever get to a point where you want to broadcast at 128Kbps then you know your mp3 quality will be more than enough. The best analogy for this is in graphics. Big picture to small always looks good. Small to big.... does not work very well at all. I hope this has been of some help.
