Michael,

With multiple streams the risk of buffering increase as each encoder is
competing for resources. If the WMP stream is a higher bandwidth stream,
that might explain why it is buffering. When you determine if you have
enough UPSTREAM bandwidth be sure an allow at least 25% overhead on each
stream. i.e. 64k + 96k + 128k = 288k * 1.25 = 360k. You also need to
calculate how much upstream bandwidth other applications are using on the
same computer and all other nodes on the same network.

Run some tests that measure upstream bandwidth. If you are running
Shoutcast, check the logs for disconnects. If you're sure your end is
clear, then check with some of the other Christiannetcast broadcasters to
see what experience they are having. Christiannetcast may be over extending
their network and/or not keep with up with resource demands.

Cheers,
Tony

Subject: [General-discussion] Buffering issue

I am using three separate stream host providers. Live365, Loudcity and now
Chrisitannetcast.com. The first tow are MP3 streams and the last is a WMA
stream.

I can listen to the first two all day long and not hear a blip, burp or
delay. The last one I am constantly having buffering delays. Is that a
problem on my end or theirs?

Michael
