Bandwith is not as good as expected. I have a cable modem at home and a T1 at work and it works good enough. I have run staroffice but it was very slow.
I haven't tried to compile any package manager yet into cygwin, although it would be a cool addition. Is this where you got your info on building dpkg? http://debian-cygwin.sourceforge.net/ Adam J.
