Yes, it does(!). There was a project a few months ago
that ported the Debian package manager to RedHat. I
can't find any links on that at the moment, can anyone
else?

Also, there is a project called Alien that can convert
various software package formats to others. Again, no
good links at the moment.

You should also get familiar with installing files
from source. Are you?
