Also, is there a postscript mode for your > printer? I'd be surprised if SO didn't support some basic postscript mode. This is directed back at Shawn Hudson...but I must have deleted the original mail so... I think he'd be more likely to get a resolution to this thingy if he could tell us how his printer is configured. I dont use a distribution, so I'm not 100% sure how modern distros are "wiring up" printers these days. Is he using CUPS or gimp-print or is lpr (or lpr-ng) piping it thru ghostscript? Odds are, the Z52 uses some PCL-clone langwidge. FWIW, the Linux printing database lists the Z52 as "works perfectly", recommends gimp-print as the best driver, but says that Ghostscript 5.x should be able to drive it. (meaning it can take Postscript or PCL input). Odd though, that he says it works well for everything but SO - perhaps the driver didnt like whatever data SO was feeding it. (if the option is available, do as Mr. Hebert recommends and try printing in postscript mode - ghostscript supports more printers and it wouldnt suprise me if that was what it was "hooked up" to - i.e. in /etc/printcap ) Look here: http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=328553 there are some links on that page to discussion groups for Linux, printing, and Lexmarks in particular (like a web interface to a NNTP newsgroup). They might be able to point you in a better direction. -- Mark Orr [EMAIL PROTECTED] ================================================ BRLUG - The Baton Rouge Linux User Group Visit http://www.brlug.net for more information.
