I was also thinking of my experience in HAL-PC in Houston,
which had a teaching network, set up by another symbiotic
relationship, with SeniorNet. SeniorNet could get some freebies
not available to HAL-PC which had the space and other stuff
needed. When SeniorNet wasn't holding classes, the lab was
free for HAL-PC to use. SeniorNet tended to have classes in
the middle of the day weekdays, so didn't compete much with
HAL-PC.

BTW, I've ordered a couple of kits to make hard drives removable.
Envision something similar if we progress in relationship with
Clickers. We could swap hard drives and keep ours in a
locked cabinet and Clickers could put whatever it wanted on
its drives. Kits cost $7.50 each and contain both part that
stays in 5.25" bay (including fan) and removable holder for
3.5" hard drive.

I like the idea of not having a hassle parking and having a few
eateries handy. It looks like they may end up with plenty of
space and I'd be glad to contribute to the cost of a used
lockable cabinet to hold our equipment. They have a nice
projector and such stuff. Their present quarters, in the Dean
Tower, present problems for Saturday meetings, when the
bulk of the Clickers classes meet.

However, hardware is hardware, and many of us are both Linux
fans and involuntary users of other operating systems, but all
use hardware, and Clickers is interested in that, too. The
sooner we expand the Linux user base so that we won't need
to use another os, the sooner software developers will put out
a Linux version along with others, like Opera does now. Noticed
also that Opera can be registered at half price by students and
seniors. Installed version 6 today.
