As a video nerd...

Taping the meetings isn't much of a problem. Taping the meetings and making
them understandable to someone watching later, especially on-line is a huge
undertaking.

The issue is in the details. To just videotape a "talking head" lecturer is
one thing. But to show the details of what they are talking about requires
either:

2 cameras & a scan converter (1 for wide, one for closeup's at the speakers
position, and the scan converter to convert anything from the computer to
videotape). I know from experience that you cannot shoot a computer monitor
with any camcorder less that about $5000 unless you can set the monitor to
exactly 60hz. You need a feature called clearscan which is not available on
consumer models.

or

1 camera, a excellent producer, and lots of free time after the meeting to
run around and try to get closeups of everything the speaker pointed out.
Plus post production facilities (editing) and someone to transfer all of the
computer screens to a video friendly format.

This though would be the perfect project for a Public Access Television
Station since they have everything to do this with. Unfortunately BR does
not have one of these. Anyone up for a road trip to Lafayette?

sorry to rain on the parade.
