I just got it installed here night before last, and one of my linux machines is providing NAT through it. Works fine, only it didn't work at all last night. Make sure you test name resolution using the 'host' command. To test each nameserver in /etc/resolv.conf, use the command as such: 'host <hostname> <server>' where <server> is one of the IPs listed in the resolv.conf. If one of both of the DNS servers you're looking up with isn't working, this will let you determine that.
On my machine, the DNS servers I got from DHCP are 68.1.208.30 and 68.11.16.30. They both seem to be working. If you're getting bad servers, you can try using the command-line options for dhcpcd to not overwite /etc/resolv.conf and put some of your own known-working DNS servers in there. -Tim ----- Original Message ----- From: "John B Cole" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, August 10, 2002 2:59 PM Subject: [brlug-general] Cox @Home name resolution > Hello. > > I just got hooked up for Cox High Speed Internet last night.
