Speaking about macs, I was wondering. My wife would like a laptop. She's an elementary school teacher and has been looking at several laptops lately to be able to use to type up things and do some graphics work for things in her class using programs like kidpix and such. I was wondering what people here on the list thought about the new ibooks. She likes the look and the size, but i've never bought a mac before and i'm not sure of the advantages/disadvantages. Being a Linux guy, I do like the fact that it runs on top of UNIX (if not for this fact, I would not consider it) and it sounds like a pretty cool machine with a DVD/CD-R and an airport card built in. It would give me an opportunity to learn a new operating system and I also like the fact that if I get bored and she's not around, I can sneak Yellow Dog on it ;-) Thoughts?
