There's a very interesting discussion happening now across various blogs and forums concerning whether or not state and federal government should use open source software exclusively (ala Peru).

I do agree with most of the comments that open standards should be used exclusively, but I feel that open source software should be used where it makes good sense (but I realize that is exactly the sticking point: M$ spends a lot of $ redefining what good sense is).
