I saw John mentioned the several options available to you. Another one is 
to just go ahead and purchase a hosted site that supports mailing lists. At 
our hosting provider you can get an account for like $7 a month. I'm not a 
big fan personally of hosting lists and such on home machines unless you 
can ensure that your machine never crashes, your net connection is always 
up, and so forth. There are other LUG lists that I've been on that go up 
and down, up and down, up and down, because they are hosting at home.
