I have an alternate machine, but have not configured the NIC (I swapped N=
ICs=20
with the machine I am running now).  Actually I was hoping that it would =
not=20
come to swapping machines (350 MHz vs 2 GHz).  I tried the static IP thin=
g. =20
However, that did not provide any help.  In fact, that is why I had suspe=
cted=20
that there might be something up with the DSL service.

Even if I do not want to use the Internet, I still hate knowing that I ca=
n't=20
get there when I do want to use it.
