I don't think so either. However, swapping out tapes isn't a big deal for most people. As I mentioned, swapping out drives will work as well. However, I personally don't like drives since they are too easy to screw up. The problem with backing up to another machine or to a local drive is that you are totally unprotected from a lot of situations for minimal savings. (And I'm assuming that multiple backups will be made rather than just a nightly copy from one drive to another.)
