Maybe it just has one of those motherboards that isn't compatible. It
happens every now and again.  You can probably search google for "g6-400
linux" and get a bunch of mailing lists with people of similar
problems.  Is there a reason you are trying 8.2.  Maybe you should try a
distribution with a different kernel or recompiling the kernel you
have.  Just a few thoughts.
