Laptops are really getting that cheap, as the market gets saturated and production has ramped up. However, you should definitely shop around on the Internet. I found a number of price comparisons for the Sony Vaio at: http://www.bizrate.com/buy/products__cat_id--462,keyword--VAIO,att259818--259889%2D,de_id--300.html along with customer reviews. Compare prices there to models you are interested in. My employer bought a Sony Vaio PCG-FX390P (http://www.epinions.com/content_69931470468) for me about a year ago and it works pretty well, though the case construction is too lightweight for heavy use. -- John Hebert System Engineer http://www.it-group.com
