I have had great success with my 3 year old Dell Inspiron 7500. It has been very stable. In fact every Dell I have owned has been exceptional. I will be purchasing a new Dell Inspiron very soon. I think Dell has a good warranty program and offers lots of choices. One of which is, when you go to their web site you can select under the "Public" section is "Education" then, "Higher Education Students, Faculty and Staff Personal Purchases" Notice "Students" through this option you may get different options for ordering such as different software packages, and usually something for free is thrown in, either free shipping or a free upgrade on something.
