Tables should never be used for formatting. Use Cascading Style Sheets instead.
Check out the CSS in the HTML I scraped together on my company's site: http://www.it-group.com. Granted, it's not gonna win any design awards, but is does use CSS for formatting. And because of that, it also renders well in lynx and links. For some good references on using CSS for formatting: http://glish.com/css/ http://www.blooberry.com/indexdot/css/index.html http://www.alistapart.com/stories/practicalcss/ CSS has a learning curve, but it will add a lot to your HTML skill set, and prepare you for making pages that render well on multiple platforms (PDAs, text to speech, etc.). Mat: I'm not ignoring you. I can't read your messages in my company's web-based email client. :P John Hebert -----Original Message----- From: will hill To: [email protected] Sent: 9/14/03 6:25 PM Subject: Re: [brlug-general] html stuff why not use border=0 and just insert your borders as table elements?
