I understand that they are not relying on it to that point, however "disabled a safety monitoring system for nearly five hours" still scares me. The article also stated that they had a redundant analog backup, so at least they could look at some gauges in the meantime. It just freaks me out that anyone would use Windows on any kind of safety system.
