Wow... stretching my brain cells now, but i think you just change it in 
/etc/hosts and reboot.  Check your /etc/hostname.* files and make sure 
your interface matches the ip in /etc/hosts.  Change resolv.conf if your 
DNS is changing, and /etc/defaultrouter if your default router is 
changing.
