Hello everyone, Dr. Cavanaugh wrote to me about CajunBot. Was hoping someone would reply to his need for assistance. Please write to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Many thanks, S.
Sonja, To clarify, the joystick driver does work but is suspected to cause kernel crash occasionally in the laptop under RedHat 9. We have installed RH9 on a motherboard which we will actually put in CajunBot (the laptop is for testing right now). We need to test the joystick driver there to see if the kernel crashes, but really what we need is a way to detect illegal memory accesses or IRQ conflicts to ensure that the joystick driver does not crash our system or to rule it out. Maybe one of the members of BRLUG would know about this. Also, we are having trouble getting some Linux drivers to work for a high-speed RS-422 serial card to work. We just got a different model card and will try it as the other card has not worked with our laser measurement system. It is a tricky thing because it uses nonstandard baud rate (500kbaud) which goes through a divider; setting things up so far has only worked with a loopback, not with the laser measurement system itself. Will try the new card but welcome input on using high-speed serial devices in Linux. Charles
