So far Nothing seems to be broken. All i had to do is add the above to my sources.list then do a apt-get update apt-get install gnome note that I did not use "apt-get install gnome-desktop-environment" 'cause I read somewhere that for sarge(isn't xandros based on sarge?) gnome is simply available through apt-get install gnome. well after that everything was simple. Had to install gdm as the final step. That's pretty much all I did to get Gnome on my Xandros. I donno how I missed this source on the fourm 'cause I had been searching since 5 am this morning. Xandros is really a great distro. Its not bloated like others. I have xandros running on my mom's desktop(back in India) and its been real easy for her to use(unlike redhat9 which had a lot of stuff on her face). I think they made a right decision by selecting just one desktop environment, though I wouldn't comment which one is better. Besides I am biased towards gnome for some reason. -- Karthik Poobalasubramanian [EMAIL PROTECTED]
