These are the three largest errors people make security-wise: Poor Passwords. Use upper and lower case character along with numbers.
Stale passwords. Change your password frequently. Using non-secure channels to send passwords. The other thing you need to consider is the actual risk factor. Are you in a target area, is anyone likely to be targeting you? Do you use a firewall, strong encryption, and safe email practices?
