So, I was heading to BR today and decided to try out La Serranita. I wasn't impressed. The worse part of the whole meal was the service and they fact that they seemed to be out of items. We got chips and salsa when we sat down. Several of the chips were stale and when we asked for more we were told they were out. Then I ordered a Taco Salad, which usually comes with the big shell, which I like. First it took about 25 minutes to get our food and we were only 1 out the the 3 tables that had people. When our food finally came out I had no shell and I was told they were out of shells. I asked why no one cared to notify me of this and all I got was a shrug. They did however take 50% off the price of the salad. When we got up to leave, a couple that walked in a few minutes earlier asked me how the food was. I told them I wasn't impressed and told them about no salad shells, they said they ordered chicken and was told they were out of chicken. We thought it was a good sign that at the other two tables were mexicans eating, but one table was the painters that were painting the building. I didn't really care for the steak slices they put in my salad either. It seemed like pan fried beef jerky. Maybe it was just a bad day for La Serranita? The mexican store was nice, and the whole building and atmosphere was authentic enough, but I wasn't crazy about the food at all. BB
