Joe, As a follow-up to my previous post, I booted into Mandrake 10 a few minutes ago and got the same results, the mouse works fine when connected to the USB port but not when connected to the PS/2 port. I disconnected from the PS/2 port and plugged into the USB port and it started working. The version of Mandrake 10 that I have is running kernel 2.6.3 so it must be an issued with this kernel release.
I hope this helps, Ed -----Original Message----- From: Richards Jr, Edward C. The network setup works great in either Kernel. Any help or comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Joseph Zachary Joe, I tried that same thing with my laptop using a Targus USB optical wheel mouse and got identical results in that the mouse works but the wheel doesn't under kernel 2.6. when plugged into the PS/2 port but works just fine when plugged into the USB port. I did a search on the Mepis site and found this thread (http://www.mepis.org/node/view/2184 ). It seems that this is a kernel problem and is not a Mepis specific issue. With regard to the printer issue, I can't help you there but you may want to post a message on the Mepis forum and see what may develop.
