Brad --

You micht try a CD-RW. Also try booting it multiple times. I have had
success with Verbatim media. The Thompson drive that comes in some
Xboxes is very picky about what it will read. If you have the Samsung
you are in better shape from what I hear. Also, you could use a DVDRW
and not waste a disc. Just a thought.

Also, if you have FTP access, you could just FTP the xebian stuff over
there (Im not 100% on this but I think you can do that, I know gentoox
works this way). Also, just FYI, 720p is supported with gentoox if you
have a TV that handles it. I chose gentoox just because I know gentoo
better than debian. I think its an unsupported port at this time tho.

I had aspirations of surfing the web from my TV... Got a wireless
keyboard/mouse. Basically the conclusion I came to is

 - It hurts my eyes, even at 720p
 - There isn't enough ram to do much but annoy me

The only thing that really worked well was to have a script on boot that
called rdesktop to my windows box (gasp!). This was quite snappy.
Unfortunately my Xbox has been occupied with Fable lately and I haven't
played with it more =/

Anyway, count one more guy in for xbox hacking... I love those frickin
things.

Chris

Not running Xebian yet. Not from the lack of desire, but that I
have so many other things to check out at the moment that I
just haven't gotten to Xebian. I did burn and cd, then I
was told it needs to be a cdrw, so I tried that. Neither
one of them worked. so now I need to try a DVD. But I really
hate to waste a whole DVD on one 126MB iso file. I'll do it
one day. just not this day!

Yeah, since day one i've been wanting some kind of remote power
switch for the xbox. I thought about the controller mod power
switch, but the xir remote is a lot cooler, so i'm gonna
try that first! I'm gonna to try my programming again tonight.
I'll let you know!
