Also, nobody has mentioned this yet but..

There's simply nothing like VS.Net 2003 / ASP.Net for developing business
applications.  Intellisense, remote debugging, etc.  

I've used MonoDevelop and Eclipse, and they just aren't there yet.  This is
one area that I definitely will consider contributing to because of my .Net
experience.

Hmm, here is the kind of software I need to do business every day:

* Timeslips
* QB
* ACT!
* Email/OE
* Firefox
* VMware

That's about it. There is nothing comparable to Timeslips, QB, or ACT! at 
this point, although people are trying. Maybe in two years we will see some 
real movement on that front.

I am glad to see that companies like Novell, IBM, and Oracle are moving as 
fast as they are.
